While Asus offers several options for their P8Z77 line, their middle of the road LE plus offers a great compromise between their entry level P8Z77-LX and the features found on their deluxe boards.Like all ASUS boards the LE Plus starts off strong with powerful BIOS software that gives the user the ability to easily over clock their system. This feature alone allowed me to get another year out of my last PC, and I was happy to see that they have made further improvements to the software since then. In addition to the straightforward overclocking, the bios tool also allows you to tweak several other settings, such as fan speeds, boot priority, and even ram and CPU voltages with a few clicks.The motherboard itself has a very clean layout, and it’s nice to see that there is still plenty of support for older PCI devices onboard, in case you need to do a bit of troubleshooting down the line. As far as features go, the board has a nice mix of USB 2.0 and 3.0 slots, and also offers 2x SATA 3.0 at a blazing 6 GB/s. I ended up buying a new SSD just to take advantage of the new hardware, and boy was it worth it. One thing important to note, this board offers 6x external USB connections, 2x 2.0 for mouse and keyboard, and 4x 3.0 for your other devices. Most of the budget boards only have 2 external USB ports, so if you need more than 2, stepping up to the LE PLUS would be a good option.The one negative comment I have about this board is the CPU latch. While I’ve dealt with some fairly stiff ones in the past, I was incredibly worried that the latch was going to crack something on the board. It made some god awful creaking noises as it clamped down, but in the end it did not damage the processor or the board itself. Still scary!Overall I’m very happy with this board. The P8Z77-V LE PLUS that it offers some great over clocking features, a nice variety of PCI ports, and plenty of updated USB and SATA connections to go around.

Here's what I can provide:Pros: 1. Nice board layout. (SATA location at the rear of any case, is not ideal. Make sure to use the angled 6gb USB cables which come with the board)2. Plenty of ports, especially USB's.3. Great BIOS (See issues below)Cons: I have years of experience with ASUS motherboards, and don't ever recall a problem as frustrating as the one with Marvell SATA Controller. Having never had the need to call the ASUS Support line, I did not realize how incredibly non-responsive their support line was. 4 or 5 days of trying to get through and leaving numerous messages.The problem manifests itself in that the Marvell SATA Controller, during POST, indicates that there are "No Disk Drives Connected". However there are 2 Drives, an Intel SSD and Western Digital Black.What happens is that every time the computer starts, it comes to a black bootup screen TWICE before proceeding to load Windows (Same problem with Windows 7, then with Windows 8 Upgrade)I've spent hours researching this issue on Forums, and have tried everything I know of, other than RMA'ing the board. The Marvell Controller cannot be disabled, so either I just have to ignore the problem, or find another Board.For those reading and are skeptical, see my build info below. This does not have anything to do with the Intel SSD (or the additional WD Black)This is a well documented problem all over the net, and not just with this particular motherboard. But since ASUS will not respond, the options STINK!Other Thoughts: I'm about to build 12 computers, and used this as my "Beta". I purchased this exact model from Amazon and can confirm it is Z77 not H77. Not sure if Amazon had something screwed up with previous descriptions but the P8z77-v LE is a Z77 motherboard and the system should show that I "purchased from Amazon" above/below my review.In the interest of saving time for myself, I am going to copy and paste the review I wrote on the Intel i7 3770s as some of the info might be helpful here as well. One other thing before I do, if you are planning to run Windows 8, I would suggest NOT installing the entire AI suite as some of the utilities will likely make Windows 8 crash, possibly even requiring a complete reinstall of the OS. I have confirmed that EPU, Fan Xpert2, and the basic AI install utility run fine. That said, when i checked all the boxes for all available features under AI suite, my system crashed beyond repair upon the first reboot.Have been running since launch week and has far exceeded my expectations. Windows 8 Consumer Preview as primary os, hyper-v virtual machine with windows home server running in the background and CPU usage usually never goes above 5%. Also, my system idles at 38 watts.The most amazing part of my htpc/server is that at most times the only fan running is the hyper 212 evo heatsink fan (variable speed using Asus fan xpert2 between 600-700 rpm) and my CPU and motherboard temps have never exceeded 41 Celsius.If I run the rear exhaust fan at 250rpm temps never exceed 35 Celsius.Word to the wise, If you are planning to use hd4000 graphics with windows media center, make sure to turn off the automatic contrast adjustment in the intel driver settings otherwise you might find the screen constantly adjusting on some recorded content.Hope you found this helpful. There was a problem initially where Curcuit City was fulfilling these boards, and shipping the P8H77 instead of the P8Z77, which I too was a victim of. Unfortunately I didn't realize it until after I built my system and then tried to find the eSata port on the back (which wasn't there)... Anyway, that board went back and Amazon shipped me the correct one (you will notice Circuit City is no longer fulfilling these.I did however manage to install and edit a video with a new EVGA GeForce GTX670 FTW GPU and on the P8H the video playback was full motion, high resolution HD in Sony Vegas preview monitor. Even scoring a 7.9 in Windows 7 performance profiler. When I got the P8Z and re-built my machine, I was sadly dissapointed to find that the performance I was getting from the NVIDIA GPU was inferior on a motherboard that is supposed to be superior to it's sibling, the P8H77 (which I just sent back). Not only did it score 7.8 but the full resolution video playback on the preview monitor could not stay in sync with the audio, and the video was slightly choppy. I had to downgrade the quality in Sony Vegas to get he audio to sync up and play smoothly. Over-clocking (with the really cool automated software ASUS provided) didn't fix it.That is not the only problem. I have a phantom USB host controller that cannot be identified in the system hardware, and I've installed and reinstalled all the latest drivers for this MB, even flashed the BIOS, to no avail.While I love all the enhancements to the BIOS and the overclocking settings ASUS has offered on this series of motherboards, the performance issues for my GPU and the phantom USB controller are a big dissapointment. I am doing video editing so the processor's GPU is insufficient, but something funky is definately going on if the same GPU worked flawlessly on the P8H.Perhaps ASUS can come up with something for me to try. If I can get these issues resolved, I will update my review.BTW, the pictures listed on this product are still incorrect. However, I can testify that the right board is at least being shipped now!

I bought this board because of the Z77 chipset. Wanted to run the Intel 'smart response technology" with the 32GB SSD acting as cache for the 1TB HD. That was a little tricky to set up, but has worked well.Board is well laid out. Easy to work with (although I STILL hate the power switch, HD activity, reset, etc... connectors which haven't changed since 8086 MBs). Sockets are solid, easy to instal the i5 CPU and stock Intel cooler.. Documentation is pretty good, and ASUS gives away cloud space for system backup.I did not overclock this system but there are a tone of overclocking controls built into the BIOS and the utilities.Be aware that the RAID control is a separate utility from the BIOS.BIOS updates can be flashed with a USB thumb drive.Some useful utilities, some, not so much...I do like the Lucid Logic video software, it has worked well with my Sapphire HD7770 (Amazon) video card. Good gaming graphics without spending .a ton.And remember this MB has TWO separate power connections~! (I forgot that for a while...)

Mine came with BIOS 0316. It was pretty stable EXCEPT for one huge problem. It was next to impossible to get into the BIOS, especially the Intel RAID BIOS (ctrl-I). I tried a wireless keyboard, USB keyboard, and even an IBM PS/2 keyboard. I seriously doubt it was the keyboards, either. I have an external speaker attached, and I can hear it chirping when the keyboard buffer is full. I bought this MB to run RAID, and I can easily waste 1-2 hours trying to get into the RAID BIOS. Was never able to get into Marvell/plug-in card BIOSes. What a PITA!Well, six MB BIOS revisions have come out since 0316. I am on 0705. Seems I am able to get into the BIOS now, but many things are just rearranged and some don't work. Seriously, the BIOS is a work in progress.One problem I've found is that no matter what BIOS and how I configure it, it always loves to try and boot from a USB stick that I have left in (which is usually the case since I am always transferring files among PCs).I give the hardware 5 stars -- even the onboard Marvell SATA6 (which nowhere is it specified and it is under the Z77 heatsink and it is the 88SE8120) is decent and stable (much better than PCIe cards using the same chip that I've used). BUT, I give the BIOS 1 star. Since this is an enthusiast overclocking chipset and RAID motherboard, this is critical. Hopefully, in time, the BIOS will get better.

Just finished my build with this board and so far it is a delight. The EUFI interface is great.So far I haven't OC'd yet, but I plan to. But at this point there are NO issues. Everything is playing nicely together.This is my second ASUS MoBo. I looked at everything else. Researched on Hardware Revolution (if you have never visited that site, do so. It is a great site.) Have a friend that likes ASRock, but I went with ASUS because of reliability overall. No board is perfect, so I buy from Amazon, because if I have a problem they have always backed me up. ASUS and Amazon Rock!

Very easy MB to work with for my first build. I have it paired with an i3 3225, and 8 gigs of Kingston Ram. Pretty much just plug everything in and go. Very easy set up without any trouble. I would recommend this board highly for a first build or anyone else for that matter. You can also overclock with this board provided you have a K CPU.

After a lot of research, I went with this board. It's great, does all that I need for all-around computing, and I couldn't ask for anything more.I did NOT like the fact that ASUS ties in their software heavily into Windows so that you have to look up on the Web how to get it to stop starting with Windows...forget how to do that now, or I'd put it here). Anyway, that's about it.

Bought this for my 2012 build. Connected an OCZ SSD, GeForce GTX 650, and an H80 water cooler in a Blackhawk case. I really love the UEFI bios. Really makes it easy to flash the BIOS and change the boot logo.

This is my second Asus board and I couldn,t be happier. No surprises during install. Recognized everything on boot up and us going like crazy. With my I-5-3570k processor an 8 Gigs of ram it is very fast with no over clock.

I purchased this board for my new gaming PC. The BIOS is very intuitive and while I prefer manual overclocking the auto-tune features provided on this board are great for the novice. My only complaint is that it can't seem to figure out the timings on my memory. I've had three sets of memory on this board already and it couldn't detect the appropriate settings for any of them (First memory went bad, second set was on loan while new memory shipped and the third set is my new memory). It was very easy to set these settings manually, but I really don't think I should have to.

love this mobo. a lot of usb and sata ports. has displayport which allowed me to hook this new windows build to my imac (to use imac as monitor). the only con is that i wish there were more fan ports on the mobo

This system replaces a 7 year old machine running Vista. With an i5-3570 processor and an SSD drive, I'm seeing boot times of under 30 seconds. The only caveat is that while the box states Windows 8 Ready, you will need to update the BIOS first. Once you locate the correct file on their website, it's a fairly simple process to update the BIOS by plugging a thumb drive into one of the USB slots.

Love it. the uefi bios is incredibly easy to set up and update. Im not using the onboard video but i did use it for my out of case pre-build test. Easiest build for me to date.

Like the other reviewer, I'm using an i7-3770k and have no issues with over-clocking. I found the Ai Suite to be very easy to use. With a Phanteks PH-TC14PE air cooler and Corsair Vengeance Blue Low Profile Memory, I'm stable at 4.8GHz - [...] so I'm really happy with this motherboard.

I used this with an I7-3770 processor. I've installed Windows 8 Pro on the computer. All drivers were available and it has been running for weeks without any crashes or interruptions.
