THE UNIT IS GREAT AND I HAVE NO PROBLEMS. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT I ALSO HAVE THE IPHONE 4 AND SOME ON THE APPS, CAN'T BE INSTALLED ON THE IPAD. THAT IT.

This is a great lil unit! It will free me up to leave my Macbook pro at home when traveling. I purchased a zagg keyboard to go with it and I'm totally pleased. It's like having my own little Macbook pro, but a third of the size.

I was the happy owner of a Kindle Fire until my husband decided to "upgrade me" to an Ipad Mini as an anniversary gift. Yes, it's shiny and lighter but extremely fragile. An accidental drop of no more than three-feet. . . the result: a hairline crack (top left to bottom right and a semi-circle hairline crack on both ends). While I repeatedly read online that if you catch an Apple employee "on a good day" they may do it for free, the helpful Apple employee I spoke to was quick to quote $219 to replace it because I don't have Apple Care (since this was a gift I had never heard of Apple Care). A new Ipad Mini costs $329 and a screen replacement starts at $219? How does that make sense? Should've bought the Kindle Fire HD!

I LOVE it. I did not purchase the iPad with a data plan, but, wow, this baby is on the money! I, also have the Kindle Fire, but will continue to use both of them, but for different reasons.
Internet connection is fast when in hotspot. Color, while not retina display, is gorgeous. It is the size of a paperback, so, it is portable. And, of course, the apps!! The scary thing is that it is SO THIN that it appears to be as delicate as your finest china. I made sure to purchase a protective cover for it. And, it is just SO CUTE!! I dressed it up immediately in some skin and the Otterbox is on the way.
The difference between the Fire and the mini are apples and oranges. There is a benefit and a use for both of them, I believe. I WILL continue to use BOTH. But, if you want the diamonds in a small package, the mini can do the job of both.

This has now taken the place of my Kindle Fire HD; in fact, I purchased a second Mini just for that purpose and to hold minor things I would use at work. Funny, it was a sad occasion for me to make that decision, because the Fire was my designated ereader. However, a few things made this a no brainer for me.
1. Once my job got WiFi, I started to use my Kindle Fire to watch my Amazon Prime television shows. It kept stopping and starting because it could not keep up with the router (as the message said). When I downloaded the Amazon Prime App on my iPad Mini, the show was flawless.
2. The Kindle App on my Mini allowed choices of highlight colors: pink, blue, purple, green. Fire HD, only yellow.
3. I can personalize the Mini with any wallpaper I want
4. Switching from portrait to landscape while reading does not create jerking.
5. App organization!!!

You don't need the retina, this iPad mini looks great and has great battery life.
If you're getting it for d/l books and working with documents then it is great. If you're into gaming and watch a lot of videos (specially Pixar style of movies) then the retina ipad would be better.

We use this for our reception area so people waiting can check on things. I also use it with our credit card swipe that attachs on the top of it. Does a lot for such a little device. Delivered in the condition as it was described and ahead of delivery date.

I've been an apple fan for a while. We still even have our fist generation iPad 16 GB. When I first saw that apple released a smaller iPad, I thought it was kind of pointless. I was recently given this iPad mini from my employees and I've been pleasantly surprised by how much I have enjoyed using it. The size, weight and performance is just right. I can't complain. I use it every day for surfing the web. The battery life has been great. I picked up a knock-off Smart Cover case for $9 on Amazon and I'm all set. I highly recommend it.

I had a tablet which I thought was fantastic until my friend came over with her iPad. I tried hers and fell in love so... I got my own. I am very happy with it! It came quickly and is so fun and easy to use. Very satisfied with I purchase!

Ordered this product after the holidays. Product was in perfect condition. Only problem was with shipping but that I believe was the shippers issues. So i got my product a week later than anticipated. Would recommend this seller and would use them again. No problems with purchase.

I gave this as a Christmas gift, and let me tell you, she absolutely is in love with it and can't stop thanking me enough (not a bad thing, eh?) She has never had an iphone, ipod, laptop, or anything techno smart. She uses it for emails, games, news, and searches. Although it is a "mini" it's perfect for her.
