I bought these speakers for my 2005 cadillac cts and they where very dissapoiting. Very Weak bass, low treb. Not much better then my blown stock speakers

These speakers sound fantastic after a short break in. Mid bass is great, and the tweeters are crisp and clear without being harsh. I used to spend thousands of dollars when I put a sound system in one of my cars but the older I get the less sense that makes. These speakers sound almost as good as stuff costing 10 times more.

Folks that are saying they don't have any bass might have one of several issues going on....make sure your doors are sealed, make sure you're driving them with some power, and make sure you understand they're mid bass speakers not subwoofers.

There are some bad reviews of these speakers. However it depends on what you are used to. If you want an entry level component system these are great. The bass hits much better than the 2 way Kenwoods I replaced these with and I was able to move the tweeter to a proper level in my vehicle. For $40 these are great value! Check around and find a name brand component system for less than $75.

Not what I expected, but I gave them a shot and have had nothing but issues. All instructions in spanish and french. Ok, I can get around that. Tweeter was damaged, ok, honestly didnt want to drill holes in my truck. Voice coil seperated after 2 months of use. Not heavy use, and powered off the head unit. Unacceptable. Will not buy another alpine product or product from this seller. Period.

I was hesitant about these due to bad reviews on audiophile forums. I needed cheap stock replacement speaker and I couldn't beat the price of these for my Forester. The tweeter came with the perfect bracket, the wires hooked right into the stock harness and the shallow 6.5's mounted up without any issues and left plenty of room between it and the window, which is usually a problem with other speakers.
These speakers felt light and cheap when installing, the magnet isn't that big, but from the box these are supposed to be stock replacements for slim German car speakers and special scenarios. I was getting worried until I powered the system up and tuned the deck a little.
Within hours the cones were breaking in and sounding great, the highs and mids can be overwhelming but I am getting ready to put a 500 watt type R in the back. I'm definitely not worried that these will get drowned out now. I think they will balance perfectly with the set up I've ordered. They do seem to have more bass than some 6.5 coax's I've installed, but its not as good other Alpine components I've heard.
If you are in the market for light slim components, I would recommend these, especially if you need some highs and mids that don't have to be amplified to the teeth to be heard over a subwoofer.

great factory replacement speaker. improvement of sound quality without having to change the factory head unit. also similar power requirements to factory, so they can achieve significant volume over a higher end speaker with higher power requirements.

Came on time, over all sound is good and came with everything you need to install, I've found alpine to be a good product over the years and this is yet another good product.

These speakers fit in doors of 98 siverado nicely, tweeters dont fit with any of the provided brackets though. And the stock speakers and tweeters actually have a more rich sound quality. I would recomend upgrading to a higher wattage more expensive alpine speaker I am also powering these with a very nice highly adjustable alpine head unit and will be reinstalling stock door speakers very soon

Good quality speakers at a good price. Easy to fit due to the many holes around the edges. The different mounting brackets for the tweeters gives good flexibility on fitting them.

These are very clean, I have them installed in the front doors of my car, The tweeter is flush mounted and looks great. I am powering this set with a Lightning audio 150w RMS 2 channel, The low bass response is fair-good, the mids and highs are amazing.
They sound almost as good as the infinity reference components I had in my other car. I recommend them for the money as long as you aren't an audiophile you will be happy with the purchase.
If you want good sound without spending a lot of money these are the speakers for you.

I also did run them on my headunit (24w RMS per speaker) they sounded good still but putting them on an amp really brought them to life.
They will run happily on an aftermarket headunit or on a low/ moderately powered amp.

Just installed these in a camry. They sound nice in the front doors. Was surprise at the quality sound that they have. For 6.5 in they put out a lot of bass.

Bought these to replace factory speakers and im glad I did. I have them hooked up to a JVC head unit with only 20W per channel and they sound great. Rated for 45W RMS im tossing around the idea of adding an amp to them to compliment a single 10" sub I just purchased. I did modify factory tweeter openings to hold the new tweeters in my 02 Sierra it was a simple mod but looks as good as they sound. Very happy with them and the price is unbeatable!

You can not get a better value for the price anywhere. I'm running these with a Memphis amp and a bazooka subwoofer. The sound is very clear and they can get very loud. I bought these to replace the stock speakers in my 99 Chevy Tahoe 4-door. They fit perfectly fine and are the correct depth. 10/10 would buy again.

I had to purchase additional adapters to make these speakers fit properly. Dimensions were fine as far as depth, but the actual width of the mounting plate was to small to fit and there were no holes that would line up.

ok first off I am 42 years old and a major audiophile.have had many speakers through the years.these are pretty clean for what they are.with a subwoofer they sound amazing.they have no bass.midbass is weak as well.but they have clean mids and highs,very clean.spruce pulp cones have always been the best choice for natural sound from speakers.and these don't disappoint.also the tweeter mounting options are a nice touch alpine!next they have no external crossover just and inline one on the tweeter wiring which I must say is very nice.saves space!if you are running a subwoofer as well these are all you need.if you want bass from your full range speakers check out the blaupunkt coaxials.very good bass with a straight deck no amp needed.however these are pretty damn good speakers and sound clean which is nice for a change.

I was looking to upgrade the stock speakers in our Yukon.
These are very good for the price. They don't distort at high levels, and the quality is good. I'd have to say the tweeter is a little cheap and the quality is "ok", but they can be mounted just about any way.
Low range is lacking but "ok"
I am running a single Alpine type R to handle the low range, Idk if I would recommend these without some sort of sub.
If your looking for a nice set of low price components without using an amp these are perfect.
Do not expect to run an amp to these.
I'm always skeptical of peoples reviews of car audio, but I can say these are a solid 4 out of 5.

Excellent speakers! Easy to fit, works fine. Sound is awesome! Would easy recommend them to everybody. I use them in my Rover25 and didn't have a problems with fitting'em in :)

I'm very desappointed about this Speakers; day after i installed one broken, Amazon said the speaker will fix my car, wron they are too small for my car.

These speakers sound amazingly good. If your on a tight budget and want quality this is the way to go.

When they arrived the box was all crippled up looked like they were dropped from the top of a building. Anyways the sound quality in these speakers aren't great at all. My factory speakers sound louder and crisper than these. Don't buy!!!

For the price these are great speakers. People complaining about the instructions should not be installing speakers if they need instructions. Overall these are worth the money they did feel cheap but don't sound cheap.

I wish that they came with additional mounting equipment but the speakers themselves sound very good for the price. I'm somewhat of an audiophile on a budget so I am picky but I was happily surprised at the quality of the sound. Nothing to brag about but a considerable upgrade from factory Ford speakers.

I bought these to replace some other Alpine speakers that had blown out. I installed them myself. Great sound. I didn't install the tweeters, so I can't speak to their quality.

I read all the reviews on all 6.5 component speakers to replace the oem door garbage in my 99 passat. I ordered 4 and they were delivered in 2 days when shipping said 3-5. had them installed and except for the tiny amount of distortion at mid levels, they sound great. Now I have no amp running just $80. alpine headunit. also they were slimline design and fit right into the factory spacers and doorcards without any real modification. I guess when the box says audi,vw,porsche,bmw etc they got it right the first time. If your looking to significantly improve your sound with letting the neighborhood know what your up to, these alpines will suffice nicely!

I installed only the 6.5" half of this set into my 2002 mini cooper and I couldn't be happier. Unlike many component systems, this set has NO crossover. It was designed to fit several other models of European small cars that had a factory component system. So when I installed this set into my car, it was a speaker wire adapter, mounting bracket and I was good to go.

The music is rich and the sounds is much better than the factory speakers; and for the price of these speakers it is hard to beat. It isn't an audiophile grade set, but if you wanted that you would probably not be doing this yourself. I would recommend these to anyone looking to do a quality, self installation sound system upgrade. Looking forward to my next road trip.

Good deal price wise, but expected a lil thump and got veeerrrrrryyyyyy lil. Got none, it is hooked to a 200 watt 2 channel Riot car amp in sealed box and gets very loud but not much low end at all and just average mid range.

This is a really simple and clean sounding comp set. The tweeter is not very loud so it must be mounted at ear level but it is very smooth not harsh at all unless you push it to distortion which will happen to any speaker. I even bridged a single mid and tweeter to a Kenwood KAC-1502S 150 watts free air full range on my test bench and it handled the power nicely. I do not recommend running this much power to them I just wanted to see how they would handle it and they performed well.

All in all a great value just don't expect miracles.

For $40.00, and free shipping, can't beat the price for component speakers. Shallow mounting depth a plus. Those people complaining about no base either did a poor job of sealing to door and door card or don't have phasing correct.

My boyfriend wanted new speakers for his car so I purchased this for his Christmas present. I was afraid that I got the wrong one, but luckily I purchased the right ones and it SOUNDS AMAZING. It was packed in original packaging, and everything was packed nicely. would highly recommend

I suppose that it is true what they say about getting what you pay for. These speakers are OK, but I guess I was expecting more.

I purchased these speakers to replace the front door speakers in my 2007 Pontiac Vibe (with the stock stereo system). The factory speakers sounded weak, and they are located down at the bottom of the door panel (which makes them sound muffled). I liked the Alpine name, and the fact that the tweeters were separate. I was hoping to solve the problem of an under-powered mid/low speaker AND also spread the sound around with the separate tweeter. Unfortunately, I only solved one of the issues. While I was able to get the tweeter moved a little higher on the door panel (I put it on the plastic cover piece opposite of the mirror), the speaker itself sounds weaker than the crappy cardboard factory speaker I took out (not much in the way of bass). Before I installed them, I had planned on purchasing another set for the rear. Now that they are in, I have decided not to.

In addition to the mediocre sound, the speakers were a lot of work to install in my Vibe and required a fair bit of modification/fabrication to the existing speaker mounts (although this isn't really a fault of the Alpine speaker set).

In hindsight, I am not sure if I would do it all over again. I like the separate tweeter, and the sound is no worse than it was before I began, but... I spent 3-4 hours installing them (and I am fairly experienced doing this kind of thing), and I am not sure I gained much on the sound end of the spectrum.

I like these speakers a lot. Alpine is a great brand. I wanted something to replace my factory speakers that I liked, but had began to rattle and sound bad due to age and being driven hard. The Alpine speakers needed speaker adapters for my vehicle because they were not a perfect fit for my Saturn Vue. They sound good, though they do not produce as much bass as the factory speakers. I expected that, but I thought that I would get a little more out of them. That being said, they play clear and loud with my aftermarket receiver, but I know they will sound much better once I add an amplifier. I recommend these speakers to someone that needs a good factory replacement without spending a lot of money.

These speakers sound great. They installed into the stock location on a 95 Chevy Tahoe (it already had separate tweaters in the door arm rests) with just a little modification.

these components were a breeze to install in our rv. we have a decent jvc head unit powering these up and they sound great no distortion. the only drawback that i found was they they dont come with any speaker grills and against the wood paneling they are mounted to they dont look so great. if the edges were rounded off instead of notched it wouldnt look so bad. all that said im just going to look for some generic grill covers and hope they fit well enough for a cleaner look. all in all if it wasnt for the lack of grill covers id give them 5 stars.

I bought these to replace the stock speakers in my 1995 Isuzu trooper. The tweeters fit in place of the stock ones up in the corner of the windows, but the 6.5s needed more work. I placed them behind the door panel but still needed to bevel the inner edge of the black plastic ring behind. Drilled 4 holes into that ring to secure the speaker but then it fit nicely behind the door panel. The end result looks stock and sounds great when with a low power stock head unit powering things.

I purchased these speakers for VW Eurovan, because most other speakers won't fit without customization. I replaced factory VW speakers and I was not impressed with Alpine SXE-1750S. No bass. Factory VW speakers have more bass.
Don't buy Alpine SXE-1750S if you don't have subwoofer.

Comes with everything I needed for my 2007 Chevy 1500 classic, base model. Factory speakers were muddy/ static at low volume levels, probably abused by previous owner, installed these, problem solved. Many other parts included for other configurations, Perfect fit for OEM replacement on my truck, minor wiring connector changes to use factory speaker leads required, no big deal. Great sound quality as always from Alpine. Stock stereo doesn't drive these speakers to thier full potential, I'm sure. Alpine decks and speakers for my OEM replacements/ upgrades all the way.
P.S. : Do your research , ask somebody, whatever, don't get impatient with those door panels and break your hardware, if that snapped clip or fastener rattles or the panel is loose later you are probably gonna be sorry. And, Oh, Lord, hang on tight when driving those screws to secure the speakers, don't get crazy and puncture the surround. That sucks, trust me.

nice brand name speakers that gives you good voice and highs installed in my wife's truck sounds good so far

The speaker sounds good, and the tweeter comes with the housing so that you may mount them on your vehicle if not equiped with it's own spot for them already. I have a GMC (SIngle Cab, Long bed) Sierra 03' and it had factory tweeters. It didn't fit where they were, so I broke off the original tweeters and grinded the housing to fit. Then I used silicone to adhere them on. You may not want to do all that so plan, and research alternatives. good luck.

I had a little problem with the way that these speakers were shipped to me but in the end amazon took care of it, so anyways I had these installed to replace my old worn out speaker and I have to say they sound great very happy with this product

Definitely a lower level Alpine. Mounting was good, but the box was completely in Spanish with no English instructions. The silver cones are actually foam which I wasn't aware of when I bought them, but overall they work pretty well so I'm content with them for the price. Pretty good sound quality if they hold up.

Overall great sounding speakers and very easy to install. I did have to drill new holes for the 6.5 and had to drill holes for the wires and the small tweeters. Great clear sound and I am happy with the performance. Now all I need is something to get a little bass in the car.

I bought these speakers and installed them in my 2008 impala without the bose system, It increased sound quality and the tweeters were a perfect fit with the included adapters. It has a very good bass response, better than the factory speakers.

Clear Midrange and the tweeters bring out the high notes and music sounds crisper too! No problem on installing them in the truck!

2007 Jeep Wrangler...upgraded my stock head unit to an AVIC-x940bt....added these speakers!....no amp...sounds amazing! Had these for 3 months now. I go from Rock, Pop, Jazz, Techno-Dance, some bass-hip hop....amazed by the price and the quality. Buy them.. you will not be let down.

I bought these after lots of research and it didn't disappoint. They replaced the blown rear stock speakers on my astrovan and work very well powered with the head unit. After 2 months i'm very satisfied and will most likely buy another pair to replace the front speakers as well

All I can say is..wow, best sound ever..I connected these set through a mtx 2100 series amp and it rocks..will recomend..great price and sound.7/25/2013
