Quality built saw.
I love makita power tools and this did not disappoint. I bought this to help me with dismantling pallets and they did not stand a chance.
The saw is weighty but in way that fills you with confidence that it is up to the job. The blades are very easy to change too.
If your after a reciprocating saw on a budget look no further.

Great tool at a great price and free quick delivery.
Does exactly what i bought it for. Well made very good price. It's actually £30 cheaper than a well known diy store that sells lots of screws to fix things. Quick blade change plenty of power. Variable speed, tough blades. Very happy with it. it's a real man style tool nothing flimsy about it. GRRRRRRRR

Beyond brilliant !! 6 *
Ultimate destroyer!!! No finesse but if you want somethin to tear through chunky timber in seconds, this is an animal. I’ve also got a B&D scorpion saw and there’s no comparison. The scorpion is all noise and no cutting but this is like a hot knife through butter !! Superb saw !!!

Nice to hold
A nice piece of kit for the money but the vibrations when in use are terrible and gives you pins and needles in arm that uses trigger. A shame really as lovely to hold

Knife through butter
I've used a battery -powered recipro saw for a couple of years but the charge didn't last that long. As I use the saw mainly in the garden., switching to corded wasn't an issue.
This saw cuts through pallet wood really easily, using the Makita wood blade provided. It's heavier than the cordless but it feels more comfortable - quite often my hands and wrists ache after using the cordless, not with this one. It feels like a proper piece of kit - if you don't need the cordless option then I'd definitely recommend this saw.

Not the Poor Man’s Makita
I rate Makita power tools highly. They are my preferred brand of power tools and l have an extensive collection. No Makita tool has ever let me down which is why l am loyal to them. They strike a very good balance between quality, reliability and price. Some of their tools (circular saws and jigsaws) are made in the UK too.
In this case I urgently needed a reciprocating saw and went to buy a Makita only to find none was available for sale. The alternative was this reciprocating saw from the Makita “MT” line. I was aware of this MT line as Makita’s entry level offering and was a bit skeptical but bought it anyway as l needed it immediately for a job.
First impressions were good - it felt and looked well made. It cost almost exactly half the price of the regular Makita version. When l used it was was equally impressed - it did an excellent job cutting through roof joists as well as plasterboard. It is powerful and effective. It does vibrate a lot and occasionally can get bound up but overall it did a super job.
My concerns that this would feel and operate like a budget tool we’re unfounded. There is nothing cheap and nasty about this saw, it is a quality item. The regular Makita saw is slightly more powerful and smoother and probably has a few more features than this Chinese-made tool but this is still an excellent tool itself and certainly not the ‘Poor Man’s’ Makita.
Excellent tool at an excellent price.

un mostro di potenza con un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. le lamette non sono incluse, vanno comprate a parte. io ho preso quelle universali della bosch per tagliare acciaio e materiali ferrosi ma vanno benissimo anche per tagliare il legno.

Saves on Elbow Grease
Great for "rough" cutting on decking and other planks where precision is not required. It's also good for those, usually, hard to cut tree and shrub roots. I haven't used it on metal or plastic yet.
All in all - it's a good piece of kit for the money.
