I bought this for my sister who wanted a portable CD player. This is probably one of the few portable cd players still bring produced as I was told they do not make these anymore. it his comes in different colours black, pink and silver. Mine is pictured as shown in silver. It is quite small and compact, but the sound production is very adequate . It has got a dynamic bass boost with stereo speakers. The stereo speakers generate 2watts of RMS. It also has am fm tuner. It is mains operated or battery operated with 6 x c batteries which is a major advantage. I like it very much and I am considering buying another one.

I wanted to love this little CD player. When it first arrived, it seemed at first glance to be exactly what I wanted. It was compact, lightweight and good-looking. Philips being a trusted brand, I thought this was the perfect little CD-player plus radio for my current needs.
First of all I tried it out with a classical guitar CD. It was necessary to turn up the volume as far as it could go to hear the quieter parts of the music. So in this respect, this CD-player could only be recommended if you wish to make absolutely sure you can never damage your hearing by listening to music at too high a volume or disturb your neighbours. This is certainly no 'ghetto blaster'. I tried it out with a louder, bassier CD - some Sibelius. The sound quality was actually not that bad, given the size of the speakers, and the 'bass boost' switch did enhance the bass tones fairly well, without distortion. If only it could have been a bit louder.
But in the end I gave up, not so much because of the volume issue, but because the player kept skipping, which began to make me very bad tempered. These were new albums I was testing, not CDs I had burned myself. I was also not exactly bowled over by the build quality. I had the impression that it would be necessary to be very gentle with this CD-player in order not to break it; all the switches and dials had a very cheap feel.
Sadly, I'm returning the player I received as it is faulty, and I cannot recommend this product to others.

Exstreamly found of this item, plays cd well, you can shuffle and skip songs easily. Good speakers that play alot louder then i expected, i tend to have the volume right down. Only small critisisum, the wire is small ao it doesnt strech far from the plug, and it doesnt come with a phone plug in even though the instuctions say with a wire you can play music from your phone- they should of included a wire

This little CD player exceeded my expectations and lived up to my high regard for Phillips products, although this is actually made in PRC (China).
Sound quality is good, could be better, but is perfectly satisfactory.
I found the row of push buttons on the top difficult to get used to- (kept pressing the wrong button!) until I added self adhesive coloured spots, i.e. green for start, red for stop, and yellow for pause.
A small improvement would be if the window displaying the CD's track number was illuminated, as it is difficult to see.
Excellent value for money, and easy to operate.(with coloured buttons!!)

Великолепно
Fantastic basic cd player bought for my daughters 7th birthday. The perfect small sized first player for children and adults that want a basic cheap small player with radio. Very nice colour and my daughter is thrilled with it. Light weight and easy to move around. Would recommend.
