The Most Practical Phone You'll Probably Never Buy.
So, I'll say this outright, I am not a big sucker for mobile phones with a high specifications as I consider them a bit gimmicky. Why do I say this? well on a laptop which usually comes with a 13 or a 15.6-inch screen or more, having a lot of ram and a fast processor makes sense, you can multitask by having numerous tabs/windows open due to the benefit of having a bigger screen. On phones, however, these specifications fall flat because technically speaking you can never utilize it to its true potential because all you have is a single screen which may be at most 6.5-inches or 7 or a few inches more. Some may argue playing games is a practical use but on a serious note the thought of buying a 30-70K phone to play three free-to-play games from the Playstore, ported over from PC, doesn't excite me. We say phones with high specs can multitask but does quickly switching from one app to the other really means multitasking?
This is where LG G8X Dual Screen Phone comes into the picture. Yeah it has only 6gb of ram (You don't need more), yeah it runs on Snapdragon 855 (not 855+, you don't need that either), but no phone at this price point or more, allows you to touch and open two different apps simultaneously on two different screens, at the same time. No phone allows you to play Youtube videos, while you order food or book a cab or have google maps opened on the other screen. My job requires me to write 50-60 emails daily on an average and this phone is a godsend, I don't have to take out my laptop every time. I can have Gmail opened on one screen and on the other I can have a full-size keyboard.
This is what you call true multi-tasking, why switch apps all the time, when you can have two of them opened at the same time. Want to compare prices of a product on both Amazon and Flipkart well you can do that, open Amazon on one and Flipkart on another.
This thing is ridiculously useful and the most practical one out there, but sadly folks here in India won't buy this beauty because of how severely underrated LG phones are and how much less credit they get for innovations. Guess I'll have to make merry in the fact that atleast I bought it while it was still available.

Value for Money, LG, The Best.
My 1st LG Phone, Finalized it the moment I saw the Phone design , A simplistic and reliable approach for foldables. As I always wanted for... like the age old Nokia Communicator. Serves the multitasking I needed with dual screens, no lags no glitches. I wanted my phones to be robust unlike the flimsy Chinese makes. LG with dual screen accessory does the job. This Phone is purely for official multitasking on the go, This is what Samsung or Motorola should have come up with.

Loved the experience More than any other phone Better than IPHONE AND ONEPLUS.
Aswome premium experience.
CAMERA Both Back and Front cam good(Can use selfie cam as back camera if you fold the phone)
CHARGING if dual screen is on it lasts half a day when in continuous use we can turn off the dual screen to save battery but charging is quick dont know about future
SOUND quality is damn good surround sound even with speakers Dolby(Loved it) EarPhones Dosent have much bass which come in the pack.
TOUCH is also decent with 128 GB and good ram no lags as of now while playing games.
For PUBG Game Console can be customized.
MULTITASKING like screen record and all are damn good over all loved it.

The underrated champ!
Pros:
1. Excellent build quality with water resistant body and wireless charging support
2. Audio quality through the headphone jack is the best in the business
3. Display quality is pretty amazing and almost on par with Samsung
4. Battery backup is phenomenal
5. Overall great image quality day and night, selfie camera is pretty good too
6. LG UI finally got much needed changes, and looks pretty neat now
7. Tons of customisation available and great manual controls in the camera app
8. Price is quite good as it comes with the dual screen accessory and a free tv for limited period of time
9. The dual screen opens up to lots of multitasking capabilities
10. Google camera works flawlessly
Cons:
1. Dual screen accessory makes the phone heavy and bulky, could've been sleeker
2. With the dual screen accessory attached, the battery backup becomes average and will last for maximum a day for continuous usage
3. A telephoto camera would've been good for this price
4. Runs on Android pie, should've launched with Android 10. Although LG's features are far ahead of stock Android.
5. The borders around the screen is little thick, could've been slimmer to give a more polished look to the phone

Please read.
After 1 month of use the Hinge is of the loose and hanging like a key chain the camera has stoped working.After multiple resets still not working.Service Center has no response better go for samsung or other reputed brand don't fall for the dual screen gimmicks you will get bored with it in 10-15 days then it will show true colours not a value for money when you have to chase service centres and poor build quality.

With dual screen it is so much fun !
I was looking to buy a new phone for quite some time but didn't find anything quite appealing to be honest. So I continued using my 5 year old Nexus 6 for about a year with a shattered screen ! I was kind of disappointed with the usual choices. Since I had been extensively searching and reading about smartphones for sometime, I saw an amazon ad on instagram about this bad boy and I was immediately intrigued. So I read reviews, watched reviews on youtube and watched some more and read some more. Ultimately decided to buy this phone and have been using it for 2 weeks now.
The G8x as a standalone phone is decent enough but there is nothing really which stands out. Like I've said before, I wouldn't have found it appealing like all the other options in the similar price range. But once you pair it with the dual screen, it becomes so much more and offers a great deal compared to other similar devices. Having said that, I also like modular design and the option to carry just the phone as a standalone device as and when needed.
My favorite thing to do is to use chrome in wide view and landscape orientation to read news or articles or watch live cricket/tennis on one screen and discuss it with friends over whatsapp on the other screen :) Simply put, the dual screen rocks !
Oh, and there is a third party app called G8x wideview on playstore using which you can project almost all the apps across the two screens ! This is particularly useful for reading pdfs on the phone and offers a more immersive experience with other apps as well.
Overall I am happy and satisfied with the two week usage of the phone. I just hope that LG start getting updates more regularly for their phones and each update improves and upgrades the user experience.

Terrible phone. Dual screen is useless. Basic phone functionality is compromised
Complete waste of money. The signal strength itself is too weak and the phone heats up. The dual screen is a pain to use and makes the phone too heavy to use. Ultimately had to put the dual screen aside. The fingerprint sensor doesn't pick the prints mostly. I bought the same thinking that I will be able to return or replace it but apparently hidden in the details is that you cannot replace it until Amazon makes you download an app called Blanco and does a remote test and declares it not working! Else they force you to accept a visit from a technical engineer even in Covid times. I refused the same and am living with this loss of Rs 57000.

Phone is hanged completely on 13th day, I need replacement
I placed the order for this phone on 12th july and received on 14th july in fine condition. Was very happy with this phone initially and happy for my decision but now from today, exactly on 13th day, phone is completely hanged and I am not able to do anything with this phone, not even able to switch off or restart. Now return window is also closed on 22nd July and I cant return it. Its really annoyed that such a expensive phone (54,990Rs) is not working on 13th day of purchase? I need replacement of this phone. I tried to upload the video of the issue but its not supporting.

LG G8x is true value for money. considering the offer that LG is bundling with LG G8x you cannot go wrong. currently LG is providing a 24inch LED tv as an offer which you can redeem after the purchase of the handset. LED tv will be delivered to your registered address after registering your handset. Now coming to handset, Lg had always been innovative with technology and this time also by introducing the dual screen technology as cheaper and reliable substitute to galaxy fold and mate x that uses the flexible display which are in its initial development, introduces the customers to the next level of multitasking at much affordable and cheaper price.
As for the handset itself there aren't much cons, all I can think of is while using the phone with dual display the battery seems to drain faster still it will last you for a day in moderate use. stand by time is great even if you use it with dual display. with dual display the whole package becomes bit huge and heavy though it is not a deal breaker. Accessories like screen protectors are bit hard to find though you could use Samsung M30 screen protector for the main screen and Oppo F11 pro for the secondary screen can be used but tempered screen protector wont work as the two screen will not close hence it is advised to use hammer screen guard or film will also do. I am using hammer screen guard.

A Whole new Experience !!
A new fresh breath of design when phones were getting boring. The phone itself is okay but where it really shines is with the dual screen accessory. It makes multi tasking a breeze. What LG has done is that it has made remarkable experience with the dual screen.
You can swap screens, control each screen individually and even a wide mode is available to combine both screens.
I highly suggest to download Wide view app from play store for LG G8X.
If someone faces issue with audio quality from speakers or headset switch off DTX surround.
The battery is okay with the accessory.
The cameras are good.....all of them.
The fingerprint reader is hit and miss.
For the price point I know there are phones better than this in many respect but the experience of an extra screen that it gives cannot be given by another phone .....(unless its a LG V50 or LG V60)
Only thing I would have liked is to mirror the screen. It would have been nice to share by bending the screen like a stand and allowing the person infront to also see the contents that I am watching.

- If gaming is your only intention then there are cheaper and better options. The game pad feature is static and does not recieve any updates.
- The camera is decent and i would prefer it over any chinese phones in the market. Not saying that it is bad but the quality is decent if compared with other brands flagship phones.
- I have a 9-5 job and i love playing games late in the evening and i can say that the battery has really fit my life style, where i only need to charge it while im sleeping. Unless me and the gang decides to play more games ;)
- The UI is pretty smooth and i it dont get frequent OS updates. I would actually prefer a reliable OS for a longer time, rather than an OS that recieves new features and 2× more bugs.
- Having this phone is more like having 2 monitors.. Trust me. It makes life a lot easier.
You can always remove the accessory and use it as a single phone. It also comes with a price, but i got a good discount on it ;)
- No hardware defects faced in 5 months of use.

Practical Solution to Multitasking
I have been using LG for a long time. After using LG G4 and G6, I was really excited to G8 and LG made it way better with G8x Dual Screen. It is really useful and very practical phone. Especially if your work involves lot of use of mobile devices, this is it.
Pros
- A very useful dual screen device. Can use two apps at the same time.
- Foldable second screen can be steady at various angles making it good for viewing movies, especially in travel
- Can easily stand the way you need
- Powerful processor and really good battery with stays longer even with second screen on
- Camera setup is satisfactory but could have been better
- Has capacity to discover your own utility with dual screen with so many ways
- Dual Screen can be separated and it can be used as any normal phone, which way lighter than with the dual screen
- Little notification screen on top is handy to see who's calling and other notifications so you don't always have to open the phone
- Nice feature rich software touch to adapt to the dual screen setup
Cons-
- Little heavy with dual screen
- Opening with one hand is difficult if you are travelling in a crowded train or bus, but its not a big deal
- very thick to handle if you're using just one screen by folding it all the way to 360 degrees

Total Waste of money.
Seller Drishti from haryana has looted me by charging around 52000 bucks for such a substandard phone. Dual screen is malfunctioning within 2 months. The seller hasn't filled the warranty card so I can't claim also. Amazon survice is also not working.
You don't find any comfortable volume key or screenshot button or gesture. Too complicated and clumsy and awkward trying capture screenshot with a volume button and power button when dual screen case is there.
Using volume buttons also are hard to operate while watching sm vedio on dual screen.
Forget about one hand operation. You can never do that.....Neither can open the phone nor can use it properly.
Even when it is single screened it's very difficult to take screenshot. They must have given sm easy to use volume buttons on screen so that vedio can be watched.
The design is a horror for sm features..... Claps for the engineer.

Dual Screen on a Budget
An interesting concept but
1. No Updates since January 2020
2, Battery life after 6 months has come down drastically
3. phone heats up during video calls
4. LG promised a TV on buying the phone. They do not wish to honor it today. Disgusting attitude from a Global giant.

A multi-tasking beast.
LG phones have always had an appeal to me due to several reasons: the quad-DAC, retaining the 3.5 mm headphone jack, ability to choose between upgrade-able storage or a dual SIM option (hybrid). The last two options are what I always look for before making up my mind and considering buying a phone, and getting a quad-DAC is definitely a huge plus from me.
I'm not new to LG phones as I have been using the V20 and V40. Although this is my first LG G-series phone, it feels familiar comparing with the V40. Software wise, the G8X interface feels cleaner and snappier. If you're looking for regular updates, though, then this is where LG falters.
Now to the main points:
CAMERA: I'm not much of a camera person, so I can't really comment on this. But I can say that the V40 is more powerful in this aspect.
DUAL-SCREEN: The main selling point of the G8X is the dual-screen, which still amaze me everytime I use it. It's like I discover new things with it almost every day. Multi-tasking is a breeze. No hiccups, just smooth as butter. I can watch Youtube on one screen and use Whatsapp on the other. Now, this is true multi-tasking. You could either use both the screens as one big screen with a border between them, or use both the screen simultaneously running different apps. I only wished the border between the two screens was thinner though.
MUSIC: This phone can drive even the most demanding headphones you can find. So, if you love to listen to high fidelity music, this is the phone for you. Period! Also, there are many tweaks you can customize to your preference too.
SPEAKERS: This is where I have a problem with. The V40 has the Boombox feature which I loved. Even though the sound is from the bottom mono-speakers, the sound feels wholesome and solid when placed on a flat surface or on top of an empty box. The G8X, however, was somewhat of a disappointment. It has dual speakers, and while I can hear the stereo effect, playing music at loud volumes from the external speakers somewhat distorts the sound to a level where it irritates the ears. The sound also feels flat. At lower volumes it sounds okay. I'm not sure if it's just my unit or every other unit sounds the same as I am yet to compare it with the others.
BATTERY: Comes with a 4000 mAh battery, which lasts me the entire day with heavy use. Battery management is really good with this one. A huge plus from me.
SCREEN: The OLED display is crisp and the colours are vibrant. You have the option of keeping an Always On Display on your screen when it's turned off with so many customization options available.
BUILD: The unit snapped in with the dual screen case feels heavy at times, a little bulky, but doesn't feel uncomfortable to carry it around. The unit comes shipped with a transparent case, so you don't have to take the dual screen case with you where ever you go, but I would be very careful while doing that as one drop might damage the screen as the transparent case is not drop or shock proof.
If the above points suit your needs along with some of the minus points mentioned, you definitely will not regret buying this phone.

Worst phone do not purchase at all.
Dual screen is not at all practical. Dual screen stop working with in a month of purchase. I will not suggest anyone to purchase this phone. Thus is total waste of money. I'm unable to findout service center now.
