This is a pretty solid bluetooth speaker.

The good:
- Lots of powerful sound with great bass reproduction
- Sound can be balanced out with an equalizer app on your mobile phone
- Bluetooth connections are great with good range, with no dropouts or buffering
- Battery life is excellent
- You can pair multiple devices
- Build quality is solid

The bad:
- Factory default equalization can sound a bit muddy sometimes
- Speaker is fairly large and on the heavy side

Gostei muito da qualidade do som. Porém o peso já complica o transporte.

I am both a JBL fan and Bose. I have more bose products than JBL. This speaker in question though would be better suited for outdoors living. Waterproof which is a plus versus my Bose S1. JBL sounds great indoors but the S1 is richer in sound.

If you are looking for a speaker to follow your lifestyle of being outdoors this is the perfect speaker. Place it down and walk away rain or shine.

While it is expensive and a bit heavy, the sound is amazing. It even fits perfectly in the basket for the local bike share in Vancouver.

I attach a cable snowboard lock to the handle so I can lock this thing up to prevent someone from doing a quick grab at the park.

JBL puts out great sound, can be pared up with JBL larger speakers for bigger boom. I love loud sound and this is big enough sound, quality and good base. For the house I can move it about the rooms. Excellent speakers and I rate this with Kenwood and Mirage speakers high quality. JBL is clear but for a party i would buy a larger speaker to attach. i recommend it over all other products I searched out and tried out. The best overall. Definitely not disappointed.

Awesomeness...Rugged, not too heavy, Goldilocks 'Just Right'; in terms of weight, bass, volume, bat-power and size.. Bought one, got a second right after...Two of 'em paired do indeed become 3, or so it seems. The 20k Milliamp battery was reason enough alone to upgrade from my 2 HK Go & Plays--and while very sweet sounding the HK's are, HK totally forgot to engineer 'Life Utility' in terms of what any reasonable person would classify as a decent bat-life ( Also had 2 Marshall Kilburns, though pretty little pieces the Marshalls are, they are not in this heavy weight destroyer class..and no wireless pairing.. pretty though) JBL, a division of HK-- had the cohones to put not one but 2 usb charging ports, made it waterproof, ( yes I just HAD to throw it in my bathtub once, but couldn't bear to leave it there, floundering

I am able to move em as I see fit from warehouse to warehouse.. to another retail biz I have.. And every day, shoppers hears them somewhat cranked, marvel, and ask me how much they cost and where they can buy em. If someone were to ask how to improve these things, I'd say JBL, you are half way there. Now REALLY throw down the gauntlet, and for freaks and for extreme freaks, (I would be first in line) add an option for a 60K and 100K battery... built in of course...and then, they could actually be outrageous enough to add a 120 Volt power outlet.. power up your laptop or say for example, your buddys amazing-but-ever-running-out-of-power-looking-for-120V-HK Go & Plays..

In this scenario its still a killer sound system but also doubles as a legit battery charger. Oh, and upgrade to 6 1/2" woofers. Reach lower thump. Make these ones seem like the Kilburns in comparison. Of course this is an extreme scenario and 90% of folks will find this particular model MORE than sufficient, compared to the rest of the feeble powered battery bluethooths that are currently powering the peers. of course they are all getting better--just like this one is a huge leap past the JBL so called "Extremes" But so far no one has really gone overboard with having "too much power' --Yet.

(Tesla? Wanna step up and lower yourself to make one? If you can send up rockets that actually come back n land themselves, it IS indeed 'lowering themselves' to dabble in consumer electronics, but man just think what a boombox they could make! Course they'd make it solar powered and autonomous ;)

To improve, when wife is upstairs and I'm down , and she likes the tunes but not at the same volume, it would be cool to have a slider balance control on the JBL app. (which works fine btw) That way I can blast as loud as I wish, and she can have it on 'mellow'

One more far out idea that might be outrageously cool is, since it's already waterproof, put a two speed propeller on the back of the thing (maybe even a remote controlled through the app, rudder, with perhaps manual, as well as autobot 'figure 8', and circular modes) Though they may run into each other hehe can you tell I haven't thought this through..maybe they could talk to each other where the other one is, through the app so that never happens. Just imagine.. your pool party.. the fun times..to have these two things making their way around the pool... giving all a soundstage...maybe even have races...too much? Who says so? Can your Bluetooth do that? Rotate the pool? Lord knows there's probably enough power to do it for days.

Seriously, to sum up: Awesome, amazing, and don't believe the negativity..(anyone who claims to make any judgement from hearing it through a youtube review, and listening to said review on their headphones or whatever, where they A/B the JBL vs this or that is NOT a serious audiophile.. only way, is go listen to them for yourself and that is the only way to judge--or take a chance like I did, trust the reviews, and you won't regret it) From Debussy to Jerry Douglas to Paul Simon...From Bruce to to Derek Trucks to whatever...if you do get a chance to audition the JBL, just put on Clapton's rendition of "Autumn Leaves".. listen to the strings, the piano, light percussion setting the pace, and Clapton's lead guitar playing reverent homage to this classic, with full soundstage and depth the JBL provides... and I challenge anyone to snobbily categorize it as just a brassy, bassy, boosted and bright boom box. Dare I say it can be nuetral as well. Especially if your mp3 or music player has eq settings. It defies categorization and does its best to entertain you.

Point is the JBL it doesn't care what you input into it, just plays its little electronic GUTS out for you!

Tis a bonafide rock star, this JBL-- sure you have others like the Aiwa, but that ain't waterproof is it. Not getting into any who or what's the best, not gonna do compare to anything else, JBL made their statement here, and it stands on its own merit. It is what it is, and it's AWESOME. (I use it with the Nuetron App btw, makes the music sparkle)

One final point.. I don't think is disclosed anywhere is, if you wish to use the boombox as a charger, it will not charge anything when it's off--however, if you hook up say a cellphone to charge, and have the boombox ON, it will start charging..and then, if you turn the boombox OFF, it will continue to charge the device! So that way you don't have to have the actual power on, and yet still charge stuff.. not sure if this spelled out anywhere, but work, it does!

You can stop overthinking it, just get it folks. IMHO.

Buyer beware, retailers are only giving you 30 days returns. The manufacturer JBL/Harman, will only honor your one year warranty if you purchase it directly from them! Shame on you JBL/Harman!

3 months after my purchase and after a light use of several days per month and a couple of charges, the power button is now unresponsive. If on battery power, it would not start, and it takes 5 to 50 attempts with the start button to power up. Definitely a software issue, and NOT impressed with the lack of firmware upgrades. Sound is OK but bass is way too exaggerated; and max volume is not as loud as I expected. Given the price point, this is a failure. If I could, I would return it.

After owning a Bose for many years it was time for a replacement. We started out with the Charge 4, great little speaker, but not full enough, unless very close and low volume same as Xtreme2. Moved to the BoomBox.... ohhhhh yeah! Now this speaker is worth the $$, killer bass, rich and full sound, shocking battery life. It’s like having a stereo outside. We LOVE it.

It’s expensive. Full price it is a lot of money to spend on a bluetooth speaker. I happened to be lucky and bought it on sale. But, if you purchase the speaker you understand right away why it’s worth every penny.

Long battery life, amazing sound, booming bass. There are loud speakers that sacrifice sound quality, and there are speakers with amazing sound quality but cant go too loud. This is one of the very few speakers that can do both; get super loud without sacrificing amazing sound quality. It’s worth more than 2 JBL extemes. I also have a UE boom; i should have bought this first and save the money i spent on the UE boom.

A very unique product! The "home" equipment setting puts out tremendous bass that gently levels out the louder you go, the outdoor setting reduces the initial bass and difference between soft and loud EQ. Both modes sound good outside, and used it to fill a medium community hall loud enough to dance to! But this think was a bit bigger than I was ready for, I downgraded to the Extreme 2 for portability for my usage. But this thing is calling me back, I might purchase it again sometime in the future 👌

Firstly I love this product it has great sound quality even at max volume no tearing, bass is just crazy shakes everything never tried it in water it has been bumped a few times. Battery life is perfect for me lasts me around 1 week with medium volume. Bought it in 2019 December and around march 2020 my boom box stopped turning on. Now my boombox only turns on when its plugged in, no fix except plug it in and remove the plug. Works just fine, but its a hassle. Also no fix for it which is suprising.

I am ruined. I bought this because I wanted portable BIG music. It delivered. Clear, crisp, even at max. Plug it in and get even more power. I like bass. This does NOT have an equalizer, so I had to use Spotify's equalizer to add extra bass. The bass is good, but because it comes out of the sides you have to put the unit in a corner so that it can bounce off the walls to hit you. When it does, it's great. Yes, stuff will shake if it's close enough.
I'm buying a second unit to put them in stereo.
You can sync up to 100 of them. Hmmm........

Bring it to the cottage. The hang out. The beach. It’s waterproof and is loud !!! Nice bass too.

I was told about this product and I was very happy with everything. Received product quickly and very impressed with the sound and ease of using it. Our old stereo will be a thing of the past. Wow should have bought this long time ago. Take outside, inside, where ever so handy.

I cannot believe how long this battery lasts. I use it an entire weekend on 1 full charge. Great bass and clear sound. The bluetooth connection is also very simple and has impressive range. I even tested its waterproof capabilities by falling in the pool with it as a prank to my family. Robust and rugged. Love it

This speaker is worth every penny. Loud and the bass is terrific. Speaker lasts all day and bluetooth signal is strong. Seller shipped super fast as usual also.

Worth every single penny ! This speaker had enough power to get a whole engagement hall/party going. Battery lasted all day and still had more left in it. Highly recommend, best portable speaker on the market hands down. Floats in water, and bass kicks hard.

Woooow! Love it!! The first thing I did when I bought it I threw it in the swimming pool. It actually floats and plays amazing sound while floating. Battery life is amazing. If at middle power it could last up to 3 weeks without charging it. At full power it will last about 8 to 9 hs. Worth every penny!
