pedals used in the signal chain work as well if not better at some points than the effects loop, but it’s what you want and how you want it. this is not a Vox amp and don’t expect it to be, but in the right cabinet or through a good can simulator, this sounds really good right up to the part where breakup begins. once you hit the breakup it definitely sounds has as you keep pushing it; this the need for a cab or a good simulator. i like this amp, and for a small studio setup, or small clubs with a descent house, or mic system and it really is a very serviceable amp. now it’s not tubes, and as far as i can tell it is solid state as it says it is and is not just a digital attempt at saturation. This is one of those times when i will post an image, basically cuz it’s easy and it shows i really do like this. just don’t gain it up too much and you’ll be really happy with it, it has that British 70’s early 80’s sound to it. now, it does sound a bit more vox than marshall or sound city in color, but it just tilts to it and demos not truly chapter the nuances of a box, but again, i like this. see my pic, i own a few of them, of which i am pleased with them all!!!

firstly addressing the hum:
its there.. but at 75% or "3 o'clock" its un-noticeable.. and that is plenty volume.
for me this now sits on my pedalboard like a squid with the FX loop filled. *I did notice digital noise in my fx loop coming from my zoom g3 but thats modded so I blame that.. as soon as I added another pedal in the FX loop a boss eq it seemed better grounded and the noise was gone**
I play church music but this thing hits small stage levels great and I always played mic'd and in the mis so it works great.
the tone is phenomenal. I love big mids and this delivers from left to right I run T45% M65% B50% / G75% V75%
this gives me a great tone with a Tele with some buckers I might roll off the bass and bring the trebel back but I am happy
a donner small blues driver in front of this gives it a good kick in the pants and
I threw some reverb and delay through the loop and love playing this thing..
a bit of a volume roll off and mid p/u position cleans it right off and this thing plays dynamically unlike "digital" vox models I have tried (trying to keep it cheap) and is much better than my old Ashdown FA 40 WATT tube amp (I hated the dark dreary tone of that thing)
conclusion:
I most commonly play a vintage Fender twin reverbs, and some other crazy gear (mesa, orange, vox ext.) as a friend of mine is a bit of a gear whore becuase I could borrow away :). but I have to say the pure price to tone to this thing is incomparable and I will be getting another to run stereo (maybe a purple wind or Fender Clone) cause. I wil add a photo if I can remember this weekend.

The good it does sound really good, does have a voxy vibe, the TMB and gain very responsive can dial in some great tones. Have spent couple days playing through several cabs and a 1x10 with vintage 10 is the winner for my ear. Some signal boost little reverb this will see plenty playing time. Does take most pedals nicely the effects loop functions good.
Would I buy again probably not with the added cost of power supply and volume think could spend money better. Maybe if demoed to insure getting one with out noise?
