Make sure you have a Grohe Rough-In Valve installed.
I love this trim and handle, it matches our bathroom sink faucet - however, make sure you have a Grohe valve (rough-in) installed, otherwise you're in for a world of confusion. It was not common knowledge to me that bathroom hardware manufacturers made proprietary screw placements on their trim kits. Thereby sneakily locking the consumer into forever purchasing their products/trim kits. Our bathroom has a Moen rough-in valve and cartridge system, after having a plumber over to swap out the cartridge and to figure out how to mount it, I was informed that I better pick up a Moen trim kit or go the way expensive route of swapping my Moen valve for a Grohe valve. After some research and lots of redneck engineering I figured that I could have a machine shop make an adaptor plate that would bolt onto the Moen valve, and provide the necessary mounting points for the Grohe trim kit.
That headache aside is these handles show water stains easily. They polish off just was easily, but it's a bit annoying.

You're much better off who the Delta high flow and a contemporary ...
Do not buy this shower valve and trim. It has very low pressure. When I called the grohe support team, they told me this is a rainshower and would not have enough pressure. I'm not sure if you go to the shower to get rained on or to get a clean shower. You're much better off who the Delta high flow and a contemporary trim. I have that all done, I was down $475 and $300 plumbing cost.

Attractive and well made
Attractive and very well made. Grohe (and Hansgrohe) are quality products; our plumber was impressed that we knew about them. Given that you'll probably have them for decades, I think they're worth the premium over "standard" brands such as Delta.

Grohe Pressure Balance Valve Trim
Another great high end product name. This Valve is very nice - the chrome looks just like the picture. I tend to buy a product for style and quality. This product has both. Grohe products are one of the best.

For the second phase, we purchased all the same products online here. This saved us significant money and the products are exactly the same.
