Extremely happy with DAIKIN Mini-Split A/C Heat Pump System
This 24,000 BTU unit cools extremely well and was easy to install. Here are some points for your consideration:
• Installed in room that is approximately 20 by 32 feet with a 10 by 8 foot archway to an adjoining room of approximately the same size. House receives full sun for the entire day.
• Kept room cool and dry on economy setting when it was humid and 90°F plus outside. Adjoining room was 1 to 2 degrees warmer than the installation room.
• Please note BTU comparison between a split AC/heat pump system and a window A/C in like comparing apples to oranges.
• Quiet unit.
• If the 15ft installation kit is too short, ask seller for appropriate length. We contacted Heatandcool and they matched us up with the right length. Get the shortest kit that will work for your application to prevent heat or cooling losses in the line.
• A 12 year warranty means Daikin will stand behind this product

You don’t get a warranty but likely won’t need one.
Warranties not applicable via e commerce. However this unit is excellent. I had a tech install, moon lighter. He reported that this brand is his favorite outside Mitsubishi at less than 1/2 the price. Consider a replacement is cheaper than their Warranty.

Not Recommended
Bought this unit through a HVAC dealer. The first outside unit had to be replaced immediately due to non function. After the dealer worked diligently for a year we are left with units that do not de humidify at low fan speeds and actually increases the humidity to intolerable levels. The dealer has done all he can and I was told by Daikin too bad, no further assistance was available. Look for a different brand!

I put it in my 14 x 20 shop with 10 ft. walls and vaulted ceiling (another 7 ft to top). It cools that shop very well here in Georgia in August. I haven't turned it off since it was hooked up and running July the 30th, 3 1/2 weeks. I am very happy with it. It arrived the first part of the week when it was scheduled for the end of the week. I received the trim kit first and the mounting bracket; then the outside unit came Tuesday. the inside unit Wednesday. I had printed off the specs. prior to receiving any of it. By the time the inside unit arrived I had the disconnect wired and installed, the outside unit installed and wired the next day, the drain line piped down, out and under the deck. Hanging the inside unit was a piece of cake. I hooked up the inside wiring too.
I had an HVAC guy come and hook up the line set and then hook up the wiring at the outside unit from the inside unit. He had to cut line set, flare ends make connection and vacuum it down. I think he may have been there an hour or hour and half at most. He is someone I know from work; cost me $100.
I knew I would love it. Me and the same guy installed one in my daughter's out building a couple years ago. He had ordered Daikin for me on that job. We loved that unit too..

Hi,
Bought the DAIKIN 12000BTU kit with lineset and duct. With the assistance of my son and after extensive planning we got the unit installed in 2 days. 1 day for mechanical and 1 day for the electrical.
Since the lineset has to be cut and flared, you need the gauges and a vacuum pump to complete the job.
The syling is not exactly cutting edge, but I bought it for the efficiency. Measured the MAX current to be 2.8A (670W) with full cooling (Strongman), and ~0.3A (72W) to maintain the temperature and 0.0A when it's turned off.
We do have central AC set to 72F, but the bedroom was never cool. It's worked great keeping the room to 68F even when it's really hot outside 106F.
Would definitely recommend it, but not really a DIY unit..

Good one at this price.
Really good, eco mode really works well, it's take less than 5 min to clean room 12x12.
