Should be a lot better considering the cost
The face brush wasn’t very useful and didn’t feel like it was working well.
I had to rewash my face afterwards with something else. Not like the cheaper brushes on the market which are a lot more effective.
I was so excited about this but I could have saved a lot of money and go for the cheaper alternatives.

Wrong plug
It came with a 2 pin plug. We use 3 pin plugs here and so cant use it

Expensive set - shop around and check latest Braun Silk-epil models
I'm a great fan of epilating and after doing it for years find that I get very little regrowth on my legs and underarms, and that I barely feel it. That said, this set isn't one I'd recommend because a) it's expensive for what you get, and b) this is an old model epilator: it's worth checking out the series 9 which has a flexible head making it far better for contours around knees and underarms.
The facial brush is battery powered and taking just a single AA battery is severely underpowered - maybe ok to take away on holiday but not much use on a daily basis.
So really all you're getting for your money is the epilator and interchangeable shaver head: they're good, just not a hundred and fifty pounds good. Also, if you're new to epilating, you won't pick up all the tiniest hairs and don't get the silky soft feel of shaving, so I use both methods in combination.
The facial brush is battery powered and taking just a single AA battery is severely underpowered - maybe ok to take away on holiday but not much use on a daily basis.
So really all you're getting for your money is the epilator and interchangeable shaver head: they're good, just not a hundred and fifty pounds good. Also, if you're new to epilating, you won't pick up all the tiniest hairs and don't get the silky soft feel of shaving, so I use both methods in combination.

Painful, but works!
This said it would need charging over night, but in fact it was super speedy and was fully-charged within half an hour. You do need to use a shaver 2-pin socket for it, or have a plug adaptor.
The face cleanser brush is brilliant - really easy to use. I like the fact that you can put your favourite face cleaner on the brush, or just use water, and use it like that rather than just washing with your hands. It definitely feels as though its getting in all the right areas for a deep facial clean. It feels super soft when you're using it. In fact, it's so soft you almost can't believe it's going to work, but I could feel the difference afterwards!
It packed up really well; not too many confusing bits. Instructions are very clear
With the epilator, the instructions say you have to use the beginner's blade for 4 weeks then move on to the full rip! I used the beginner's blade as instructed, on my legs and it was really easy to use and worked beautifully. It does sting quite a bit, but the instructions say that this eases with time. My legs were still silky-smooth a week after use, so it lasts a lot longer than shaving or waxing normally does on me.
I tried to use this on my face as well, but the pain was too much and I had to give up on that - it was like plucking your eyebrows, but 40 times worse! I've docked a star for that, as there is no way I can use it on my face or bikini line. Other than that I would have given this 5 stars, as it worked perfectly for my legs and underarms.

A well though-out and well performing package.
I received this item through the Amazon Vine programme. My daughter-in-law tested this epilator out for the purpose of this review : There was an excess of packaging, but the products were well protected. The epilator arrived without charge and needs 24h before first use, which is a little annoying, it also only charges from a 12v shaver socket, and a converter is not supplied, something to bear in mind if you don't own your own converter.
The face brush arrived with a AA battery installed, ready to use.
The epilator itself is good, and efficient - the epilate + shave (known as a smoothing head online, but referred to as a starter head in the documentation) is a great idea, but you're meant to replace the attachment every 6 months, and they are unavailable to buy online.
The trimmer attachment works well.
The face brush is excellent, and compliments the kit well, as other brushes like it are very expensive. The little bag for storage is nice.

Works phenomenally
My wife used it a few times and she finds this beauty set very usefull. This beauty set contains an epilator with shaving and trimming head, contact cups for precision, a facial cleanser with cleansing brush head, a pouch and an well described instruction manual. The quality and look of the epilator is amazing and it also comes in a very nice box so is perfect as a gift.
The epilator works very well on my wife's skin, I think this epilator is a bit painfull but my wife says it is normal for an epilator to be a bit painfull because the main purpose of epilator is to pull the hairs from skin. However my wife's find this epilator less painfull when used while shower or on wet surface. After using this epilator the skin feels smooth and silky and the result of this epilator is almost similar to waxing. Overall this epilator works phenomenally and is a good alternative of waxing.
The facial cleanser is also included in this set, and is very usefull to clean or exfoliate the skin to remove any dead skin cells. The Cleaner brush head is also very soft, gentle on skin and it makes the skin very soft and clean.
Overall the whole beauty set is very effective and usefull. The reason i gave 4 star because firstly, i think it is very expensive and secondly, it is a bit difficult to use this epilator on tricky areas like elbow

Cordless and waterproof but expensive
This review is for the Braun Silk-épil Beauty Set 5 5-875 Starter 4-in-1 Cordless Wet and Dry Hair Removal - Epilator, Shaver, Trimmer, Face Cleanser, White/Pink.
First off, if you’re not used to epilating, and/or think you have a low pain threshold, then don’t use an epilator as anything that pulls hair out of your body is going to be uncomfortable.
The facial brush is battery powered and uses a single AA battery, but it takes a while and makes me think it is underpowered. I also don’t think this gizmo is waterproof as the battery compartment isn’t sealed and looks to me as if it would leak water.
The epilator though is easy to use and is waterproof and you can use it in the bath and clean it in running water too. It also has a 2-pin charging cable that will plug into a shaving socket or an adaptor.
The kit comes with a nice draw-stringed carry bag with two compartments in it that divide the bag. Not sure what they’re meant to hold, so I’ve put the instructions and charging cable in one side and all of the kit in the other. It is a nice collection of kit with a handy carrying bag, and comes in a really nice box, but it’s really expensive and I don’t think it’s worth the almost £150 being asked for it.

The epilator is very good. It includes rechargeable batteries, and can only be cordless. The booklet is 120 pages, of which only 6 pages are needed for English readers. It's slightly confusing in that you are told that when you are using on dry skin, there must be no grease present, yet when you are using it on wet skim, you must use a shower gel. They suggest that until you get used to the feeling of having hairs removed by the roots, you use the "beginner's head", once a week for four weeks, then continue with the full monty. In use, it is very effective, and not painful. I like the fact you can lock it off for travel, so it doesn't accidentally start whirring in your luggage.
The face spa, is basically a soft-headed rotating brush. In this case the manual is 55 pages, of which only 3 pages are needed for English readers. It works, but I'm not convinced of the benefits - especially when they recommend you buy new brushes every three months as they deform in use.
In summary, it's worth it for the epilalor, but the face spa seems an unnecessary extra.

No shaving on quality
As an avid user of epilators, I was keen to try out this Braun beauty set predominantly for the epilator to see how technology has improved over the years. I was pleased to say that this product has so far exceeded my expectations. I normally use an epilator for my armpits and bikini line after a warm bath or shower to open up the pores. In the past, I am often left with red, bumpy skin after use. I have also previously experienced in-grown hairs, which has caused me much frustration.
With the Braun epilator from this set, I experienced the complete opposite effect –the underlying skin remained my normal colour and I was left with silky smooth skin. I have also noticed that the hair that has grown back is much finer than normally. This might be down to the latest technology of the epilator that has advanced since I last purchased one of Braun’s earlier models; there is now SensoSmart technology which alerts the user if they are pressing down too hard with the epilator to their skin; something that I have found interesting and useful.
For me, the reason why I have given this set 4 star is because I feel the FaceSpa brush is more of a gimmick to embellish the set and it is not a product I would use in my daily cleansing routine. Having said that, the head was very soft and it did feel soothing when I used it on my face.
Provided with the set was a beautiful, high quality bag to place all the contents neatly within for safekeeping which finished off this set to an elite standard. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a top quality epilator with a matching finish.

Expensive but worth it
For first time epilators, blimey it’s gonna hurt - but trust me, you quickly get so used to it you won’t bat an eyelash after a while. I’ve epilated for donkeys years, saved me a fortune in salon waxing (or the hassle of home waxing) and no more stubby hairs from shaving either. And yes, I epilate everywhere! Bit eye watering on more intimate areas initially but hey, no pain no gain. The effects last for weeks and even then the hair regrow is fine and silky.
I’ve always used Braun because other brands just don’t have the quality or longevity. This pack comes with literally everything you could need to have smooth, exfoliated and epilated skin and I couldn’t be happier. I use the whizzy brush thing on my legs (I admit I have a Clinique sonic brush for my face which I far prefer) as I always get dry skin and this really helps. And hooray for technology, you can use all the accessories wet or dry - sooo much easier in the shower.
Yes, this is an expensive set, there’s no denying it - but it will last you ages, Braun are great on customer service and it’ll save you a fortune on waxing, shaving, creams etc.

Pretty good!
I like the idea of this. I’m not someone who waxes as I can’t really be bothered and tend to shave my legs. This is actually not that bad. I followed other reviewers advice and used this after a hot bath so my pores were open - actually didn’t hurt too much. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not as pain-free as shaving that’s for sure, but it’s not as horrific as waxing.
It comes with a mains plug that you plug into a razor socket so it’s two pin plug. Most bathrooms have the plugs but if you don’t you can buy an adapter easily enough.
It works well in terms of being a trimmer to and works really similarly to any hair trimmer you can buy but it’s nice to have the two functions in one device. It comes with a guard so you can have slightly longer hair too.
I’m not so sure about the facial brush which seems a little odd. It’s just a brush that spins around so not sold on that at all. Maybe I’m missing something there!

This is a great little starter kit and comes with an Epilator and a Facial brush.
The Epilator is very good quality and can catch hairs as short as 0.5mm. I notice the results are a lot better than shaving. Using the Epilator for the first time was uncomfortable, however after a couple of uses it became less noticeable. The device is completely waterproof so you can use in the bath or shower and can even be used dry. The device takes around an hour to charge and lasts for 20 to 30mins. The epilator comes with a shaver head, which is also useful. Overall results last a pretty long time (1-2 weeks or so).
The FaceSpa brush is great for daily use and makeup removal, coming with a brush for sensitive skin, which I am using. Using this, I find I am less prone to breakouts and my skin does appears to be less dry than normal (which is good).
Overall a lovely kit and nice colours which make it generally an appealing set to use.

Review for 5-875 Starter kit
All the reviews mixed up on here for different versions of the Braun epilater. Also these products tend to get price reductions over time - so I am not going to get hung up on the current price - which is high compared to some of the other models after discount. That said I think considering you get the face cleanser brush (which runs on batteries - it is not rechargeable) as well as the epi - with various heads, is reasonable anyway.
As with all epi's - it takes a bit of getting used to. Some people seem to be fine with it - but I once tried it on myself - and it hurts a lot! But you can use this in the bath or shower - which helps a lot. You get upto 30 minutes use after a charge - which is probably all you would want to endure in one go. After that I am told the secret is to keep on top of it and that it gets easier the more you do it. Obviously it is potentially a lot cheaper than waxing and just as good.
This version works well and happy to recommend.

This set covers pretty much all you will need for epilation, shaving and trimming and also includes a face cleanser. Cordless use of the rechargeable Silk-épil lasts up to 30 minutes and my experience was that the recharge is very fast, about an hour.
The epilator is really easy to use and is very effective. If you don't want to epilate sensitive areas of skin, the shave and trim attachments are also really easy to use.
You can use the Silk-épil in the bath or shower which also helps to reduce discomfort, particularly with epilation.
The face spa is an additional device that I found really easy and comfortable to use. It encourages blood flow and gently exfoliates dead skin.
The epilator is really easy to use and is very effective. If you don't want to epilate sensitive areas of skin, the shave and trim attachments are also really easy to use.
You can use the Silk-épil in the bath or shower which also helps to reduce discomfort, particularly with epilation.

Great all body beauty gift set
Very nicely done by Braun at a fair asking price - Essentially 2 main components, a Silk-epil 5 to shave, trim and epilate plus a Face Spa sensitive electric brush. My twenty-something daughter is very pleased with this "gift" set, which also includes a hand pouch for storing the components when they're not being used. Includes a mains charger for the epilator and a single AA battery for the Spa brush - maybe going forwards, Braun and other manufacturers might consider a universal, Type C, charging solution? More luxurious packaging might lift the dull presentation?

Yes, epilating generally always hurts, less so the more you do it but I guess your body just gets used to it. The kit comes with a couple of different attachments and also a powered cleaning brush (this however I've never either used correctly or I just find it a waste of time!), the Silk Epil range is a good product no matter which one of the range you opt for. Good battery life, less noisy than other brands and pretty efficient at what it does. Also, I find these don't get as clogged up requiring less brushing after use.

This set has all you need for keeping your body hair trim and tidy.
The shave works well in dry and wet. My wife prefers to use it wet.
The epilator makes her skin silky smooth
Good value for money. Great all round set.

Ideal set for young women (especially the epilator)
This starter set has been ideal for my teenage daughter and she is particularly delighted with the epilator. According to her, it’s less sore than other epilators she’s used to date, so she’ll definitely be getting more use out of it in the future.
Also included in the set are a shaver, trimmer and face cleanser, so the set represents great value for anyone looking for all (or most) of these items, especially when one considers that it comes from a quality brand such as Braun.

Nice but pricey
First of all, the device fits its purpose so well. The various attachments are very useful. The noise level is also fine and not too loud.
The use of the epilator in the shower is a decisive advantage over other devices.
Cons:
the price is very high. The battery could be a little better and last longer. The epilator attachment could be more precise and stammer sit on the device.

Good but not the ideal one....
I am a lazy person, I want everything to be easy and smoth ... And an eu plugin does not help me in uk ....
But I will go over it because the device quickly recharges and I can use it twice with a charge ...
And the epilator is also pretty quick to remove hair: I don't have to go through it and go over it again and again ...
The brush is so soft !!! And it's also good ...
The sheaver is not so good.. for what it costs I expected more ...
