- + Невероятно удобен для браузера, отображает большую часть страницы сразу.
- - Выглядит грубовато, как шкаф =) (ну так он офисный)

- + Отличный монитор. Разрешение 1280*1024 выгодно отличает его от аналогов с 1024*768, можно эффективнее использовать меню программ и, тех же, ММОРПГ. Симпатичный строгий дизайн, не напрягающий синий светодиод - желтеет в режиме ожидания. А цена сыграла решающую роль, моделей начального уровня дешевле 5ти тысяч я в Москве не нашел, а этого красавца купил в эльдорадо менее чем за 4. За эти деньги можно найти только б/у.
Русское меню не перегружено ненужным функционалом. Есть несколько предустановок и ручной режим. Автонастройка под картинку. - - Есть Х-образные засветы по краям, но это у всех, даже у дорогих. Отказался дружить с идущим...

After years of purchasing coordinated pc, and peripherals, which always had something I wasn't satisfied with, this time I chose my set up with items of several different brands I had liked previously, and am quite pleased with the outcome, and they, contrary to what the manufacturers urge,seem to be working together very productively and happily. Oh, my, I didn't mention at the outset, that I was seeking a classic proportions monitor, which wouldn't cover the whole top of my desk with useless side space, while preventing the placement of items I need.I had heard that Acer was a brand with a long history of reliability though I had never owned it previously, and, yep, it just sits there in its position, not leaving edges hanging outside the borders of a normal sheet of business 8.5x11 paper, and lots of room for my desk accessories; it has never let me down in any way or drawn unpleasant attention to itself. Really nice little item, which just sits there quietly doing its assigned thing.I am very pleased that I came searching on Amazon for what I needed/wanted before caving and purchasing a monitor which, to me, seems only really suited to watching football games on tv, with the extreme landscape configuration.Although it would appear that people must be sitting around their monitors to watch tv and video, that seems very uncomfortable to me, and I think that the traditional portrait ratios will bounce back before long. If, of course, the concept of having every technology you use bundled up in one little package which will be cunningly obsoleted in the 12-month scheduled queue for eradication reaches general awareness.Hope you're not really utilizing all of those "on the go apps" on the road behind the wheel as depicted in the hard sell promos--at least on my stretch of the freeway. (Please.Speak up for what you really would like to have, and hold out for it by checking out Amazon for it--you just might be surprised--before caving and buying the next item being pushed at you, people! That's how you get to choose what you really like.Back to specifics re the Acer monitor: While very pleased with its performance, their customer service on setting up and other questions, leaves quite a bit to be desired, although that seems to be prevalent,for the most part. That "Peggy" really gets around, huh?Ciaio for now, guys! Remember to try Amazon before giving up on that rare, or just unusual item you are yearning for; they have some amazing things hanging out in the back room.chimaraPS Here's a little designer idea that coordinates my work station nicely, and appropriate for both guys and gals: I took a hardback book (I didn't like and covered it with green marble patterned adhesive backed plastic shelving material and made a rather classy looking pedestal (if I do say so myself) for my Acer 17-inch LCD monitor to raise it to the exact height ergonomically perfect for my comfort, and set the monitor on it. With just a small edge of the book showing around the edge, it looks so much more attractive than the lumps of plastic offered at office suppliers at a price of $25!With the money saved I purchased additional rolls of the adhesive backed plastic marble patterned material and covered my banker's boxes I have tucked under my printer stand, and desk knee hole, and elsewhere in my home office stacked on shelves.If you are a writer,as I am, or other work at home type, with monster amounts of notes and other paper in your pendaflex file filled boxes, fashionize them in some way. They'll really change your work day, and when you look at them, you'll say to yourself--Wow! That looks super! (and I did it_MYSELF! JUST WHAT I WANTED! and I DID IT MYSELF!

I bought this monitor as a replacement for an ailing ten-year-old 18 and a half inch diagonal Gateway display. The product was installed without much fuss (Plug and Play is easy to the point of being ridiculous). I noticed some improvement in the frame rate compared to the previous display, especially with YouTube.All in all, the Acer is an adequate budget replacement for people uninterested in too many bells and whistles (wide-screen movie display, rapid-fire video game graphics, etc.).I'm reasonably glad I bought it.

My new Gateway netbook is a great convenience when I'm away from my workstation, allowing me to rip off another bit of text on the latest chapter, or do some editing when I have a bit of free time. The small screen and keyboard are a nuisance when I have to spend more than just a few minutes at the current task, but a spare keyboard from the closet, and my new Acer flatscreen means I don't have to immediately transfer stuff to my workstation. It arrived before it was due, fired up right out of the box, and is performing exactly as it is supposed to do. I am very pleased with the product and the service.

I have had this monitor for about a month and I am very happy with my purchase. I am running Windows XP on a six year old Gateway computer. I received the monitor in just two days. I would recommend this monitor for anyone who wants an LCD for an analog connection (VGA).The first change I made was to run the monitor at the highest screen refresh rate that's appropriate for this monitor. I've always found the higher the refresh rate, the better the image on the screen due to the reduction or elimination of flicker. However, keep in mind the monitor must work harder in order to do this. The manufacturer had the default settings for the highest resolution and the slowest refresh rate. If you change the refresh rate, check to see if the manufacturer's software changes it back to the default the next time you start up your computer. If so, you can uninstall the manufacturer's software to prevent this from reoccurring. To change the refresh rate: Display Properties (right click the desktop, choose properties), Settings tab, Advanced button, Monitor tab, put a check in the box "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display", after checking the box - my highest Screen refresh rate was 75 Hertz.The following is for those individuals who find the size of text too small at a high resolution. At first, I tried different resolutions to make the text bigger via Display Properties (right click the desktop, choose properties, Settings tab). I didn't take long to realize this monitor should only run at 1280 x 1024 resolution for the best image quality. In order to compensate for my 48 year old eyes (going to need bifocals soon), I changed the DPI Setting (Display Properties, Settings tab, Advanced button). I recommend starting with Large size (120 DPI) and using that for awhile before making any more changes. If you find that to be too big as I did, choose Custom setting and reduce by about 5 percent to "119% normal size (114 dpi)". I found this Custom setting comfortable. If you still find it to be too big, reduce by another 5 percent and repeat until you find what's best for you.There will always be some web sites where the text is defined as very small and very difficult to read. One option to get around this problem is to copy the text into a word processor and then change the font and size of the text to your liking. Another option (suggested by a comment to this review) is to use the zoom feature of Internet Explorer located in the bottom right corner of the screen. It can be identified by a small magnifying glass with a "+". You can click on the magnifying glass to change the zoom percentage.

This monitor fills a very specific need -- 17" or 19" flat-screen monitor with a 4:3 aspect ratio at a *reasonable* price. (I've found other monitors in this size with this aspect ratio and two and a half to three and a half times this price.) Most new monitors are wide-screen and have either a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio. A 16:9 ratio will give you an image that I found out is vertically cramped. The only reason I don't give this monitor a 5-star rating is that I just got it, so I have no idea about it's reliability. Picture quality is fine.

This is a great monitor for those who DO NOT have widescreen output from their computers. The price is the best around and the quality is great! It has a bright, vivid display and is HD-like in its clarity. I replaced a very good (and HUGE) CRT monitor with this unit, and couldn't be happier. Since my purchase, I have noticed this exact model being used in several retail stores as the monitor for their electronic cash registers. That indicates to me that they are capable of long hours of continuous usage and are reliable. Highly recommended.

I had never used this brand name before so I was a little wary but so far, it has worked great. What's seen on the screen comes out very clear and for it's screen size, it is very suitable and an affordable price. Overall, I am happy with what I purchased.

I trade every day and I use three 17" monitors with my trading workstation. I had three ACER AL1716 monitors which did the job for me. One stopped working so I replaced it with this V173B because I could not find an AL1716 replacement. The screen on this monitor is clearer and brighter than my other 2. I had to practically turn off the brightnes setting to get it to match my other monitors and provide a smooth screen transition. If you don't need a monitor with audio this is a terrific monitor at a great price.

The Acer V173b 17 inch monitor is everything I expected in an inexpensive monitor. It has a clear crisp picture and has only one shortcoming, that is the monitor is stationary and cannot be adjusted for height on the computer desk. It has to be raised onto something to bring it more to eye level. Otherwise a good buy.

I'm pleased with this purchase. The 17" display at the traditional 4:3 (roughly) aspect ratio provides plenty of "real estate" for viewing Internet content, for graphics work and page layout, and for working in several application windows at the same time. The screen resolution (1280x1024) is fine, making for clean and crisp images. The refresher rate is also satisfactory, as there is no apparent flicker and video appears smooth.The menu and settings for brightness, contrast, etc. are simple and intuitive. I haven't had to make any custom settings and I'm happy with the presets.It's a good monitor at a very competitive price!

I needed a monitor for my second computer, so it didn't have to be great. This was the cheapest new one I could find. It is crisper than my good monitor. I doesn't have a dvi input, but I am not going to play intensive games on this computer. What can I say, it is a great buy.

I originally bought one of the new style monitor and found to my dismay that all images are distorted by the rectangular image. Since I use my monitor for work for a charity, "The City of Hope" that made it impossible to view objects in true form. Thankfully after buying other items through Amazon I went on line and found this monitor, returned the other and am delighted. The picture is clear and bright, objects are show realistically to size, it takes up less room is slim and attractive. Hope when the time comes it will continue to be available should I ever need another.

I bought a new computer and wanted to get the old computer up and going for my kids, but didn't want to spend alot of money on a new monitor. This was an excellant choice. Compact, great picture just a overall great monitor for the money.

I'm using this monitor with a 5 or 6 yr old Dell computer, and it's working very well. It has allowed me to squeeze another year out of the computer while they get the bugs out of Windows 7. (I always wait for SP2) LOL..... Good for the price, easy to hook up, came with the cable, I'm good.....wish it had speakers built in like my old Sharp monitor, but I'll just pick up some adjuncts later.

This monitor arrived a day ago. I bought it for an XP backup system and also to use sometimes with my 386 Pentium. The 386 has programs I use that were never moved to Windows. The monitor auto-configured on both computers with no problem. And what a joy it is to use that old solidly built Northgate keyboard that will only work with the 386.Someone commented here that the monitor doesn't tilt. But it does as described in the documentation. Just grasp both sides with your hands and tilt it to the angle you like. As far as I can see this is a great monitor for the price. I'm tempted to buy a second one.

I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS MONITOR AND HOW QUICKLY I RECEIVED IT. IT'S ONLY A BASIC MONITOR BUT IT'S A PERFECT REPLACEMENT FOR THE ORIGINAL. I HAD ORIGINALLY PURCHASED A WIDE FLAT SCREEN MONITOR FROM BEST BUY BUT IT WAS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MY OLDER COMPUTER AND RESULTED IN A DISTORTED, SQUAT IMAGE.

My old monitor started to develop dead pixels after 12 years, so I replaced it with this Acer. I had it out of the box and completely installed and running in just minutes. I chose the 17" because I have *lack of space* issues and it fits perfectly in spaces with no spaces.For low cost, this is a great monitor. I was a little concerned about picture quality, but those fears flew out the window.. The screen displays my astrological charts quite clear and defined, as that is the way I need to read them. If your budget can't take much more, but you need a monitor, I highly recommend this one !!
